Moksha is a future after-death service system that blends tradition, sustainability, and technology to create deeply personal farewells. It is inspired by the idea of moksha—the release of the soul—and by rituals like immersing clay idols in water. In this system, the cremation ashes are mixed with biodegradable clay and shaped into objects that represent the life of the person who has passed, such as a favourite item or symbol. These sculptures dissolve in water on the 13th day, marking emotional release and remembrance. My role as the Grief Alchemist was to shape the emotional journey through a method I created, called The Thought Weaving Process. It is a guided counselling session that helps them express grief, understand their emotions, and set intentions for healing. Family members wear a neuro-sensing headset that captures their emotional projections. As they think of meaningful objects, places, or moments, these neural patterns generate a personalised 3D environment. Within this space, holograms, scents, and symbolic objects help them process their loss while gently moving toward acceptance. For this project, We created the persona Jehangir K., an elderly British-Parsi man who loved art, travel, pinecones, whiskey, and simple family rituals. To show how Moksha works in a real scenario, I mapped his entire after-death journey. In Jehangir K.’s Thought Weaving session, his adopted son’s projections created a world filled with Jehangir’s essence—whiskey notes, the hum of a tattoo gun, and pieces of Chinese pottery. Objects appeared and dissolved, symbolising how memories shift and fade, like a pine cone crumbling in their hands. To honour these symbols, the family crafted a clay sculpture of a whiskey glass holding a pinecone, echoing what emerged in the session. On the final day, they immersed this piece in water as part of their chosen ritual—a quiet act of letting go. The experience closed with Jehangir preparing chutney sandwiches, leaving his son with a lasting yet light imprint of his warmth.
